So I just wanted to drop in and give a quick update about the fate of the as yet untitled Mighty Unlisted self-recorded, self-produced, self-deprecating album. There is light at the end of the tunnel and we are crawling towards it. I should say I am crawling towards it, as the remainder of this project lays in my hands and ears.

We have recorded 2 songs in October of 2010 and another 12 starting in late March of 2011 in hopes of combining into a giant smorgasbord of Mighty Unlisted. So where are we now?

Final mixes are being bounced around, and I am trying as hard as I can to make a $500 album sound like a $100,000 album. But when it all comes down to it, it’s about the songs and whether someone, somewhere enjoys it. So it’s back to the spare bedroom, err multimillion-dollar recording sudio to finalize these mixes, add a few lyrics and get this thing mastered and released to the masses however large they may be.

So, it’s coming and we hope you enjoy it when it gets here. In the meantime here is a rough unmastered (a little quiet) new song from the record. This one is called “Bottles and Pills”

What do I remember about this album? Lot’s of wide eyes, Funyuns and not really knowing what we had until the album was finished. “Wide Awake and Screaming” is Mighty Unlisted when we had a little progressive rock left in us. Some odd time signatures, some open tunings, some classic Richard Burton soundbites and “Death Race 2000″.
